• "I see what you don’t. Write about things least spoken of. Speak less, listen more. Watch less, observe more. Know more by learning more. Attach less, detach more. Be seen less, remembered more. And believe that less is, in fact, more."

Embracing The Ocean

fullmoonocean

Soft & silky sand beneath my soles
I’m a woman who carries her pain in her soul.
The shadow of pain, as black as coal
Has left its mark on my chin as a mole…

The ocean so cool, so calm, so deep
Watches with silence as I kneel & weep.
The waves caress me, beckon me to keep
On the crest of a wave so high, so steep.

A fine evening it is tonight
With the moon so full, so bright & right.
It could be someone’s romantic night
While my heart and mind put up a fight.

Tired & weary I yearn for rest
And move towards the steep wave’s crest.
It seems to arise from somewhere in the west
So I straddle & gather all my zest.

The ocean feels cold but undoubtedly strong.
It understands my want, keeps at bay the wrong.
Engulfed in its arms I hear its song
That it hums in my ears chanting “so long.”

Deeper I go, the more comfort I feel
I remember my last meal, which was no big deal.
I see around me my ideals like eels
Ready to sting me, my breath they did steal.

It feels good now in the depth of the sea
To get in for once I needed no key.
At last I feel glee & oh so free
Dear God I loved life, just never make me ‘Me’.
