I’ll Be Back

BeBack

“I’ll be back!” said he…
As she fought back tears standing on a busy street.

The traffic was intense,
People crowding around her felt like an offense…

He couldn’t see her, only heard her…
Yet he knew what every breath meant…

He knew what every sigh said…
He always knew what her silence meant…

He just knew…

“Don’t go!” she achingly said…
As tears raced to embrace her face…
As she stood in the middle of that busy street,
Where no one really cared to greet…

And the only one, who she knew really cared,
Was going away, “to come back,” he declared.

“No no no,” she murmured,
“I will return,” he urged her…

Tears streaming now,
Fumbling amidst traffic all around…

She felt the pang of separation abound…
It felt as though his hand had been snatched away from hers and drowned…

People bumped into her,
As she walked fast to hide her fears…

Sight blurred
Tongue slurred,

Confusion, intrusion,
Exclusion, seclusion…
“Oh my God! Let this be an illusion!”

She felt so lost…
Everything inside her tossed…

And then…
In an instant, she was found…
For he knew the sound of her pulse even in a crowd…

And he said, “I love you,”
… out loud!
