The Garden

Sometimes I still feel,
My heart is about to peel.

I’m still sitting in the center of that garden,
Waiting for my heart to harden.

Lost, alone, wishing and hoping,
That you’d find me again, until then, I’m coping.

I seem to have grown roots that have embedded themselves,
In the soil that still has footprints of our younger selves.

The soil is moist and still carries your scent,
That nourishes my soul and relieves some of the torment.

Feels like I’m going to be here through several seasons,
Leaves blooming, wilting yet not flowering for several reasons.

I have no petals, no color, no dew drops,
No fragrance, no nectar and no identity …..

So I simply await that strong gust of wind in all sincerity,
To carry me to the land where you reside in serenity.

There bury me in the soil you call yours,
So I can be laid to rest free from all wars.

There I hope we can be free from pain,
In flowers and trees we will be together again.

I will meet you my love, in the garden again.
